To me, the craziest thing about this movie was....Miranda's loyal husband of YEARS, who she changed her whole life for, has a family with etc. just cheated on her and she's currently going through a separation...and none of the other three ever seem the least bit concerned for her/interested in supporting her

If Carrie was a good friend she’d have answered something like this:
“Oh, Miranda. You think you ruined my marriage? Look, it wasn’t some random comment that put us where Big and I are now. Our problems run so much deeper than that. But thanks for telling me. Wish you’d said something sooner though instead of agonizing over it all this time.”

The first thing Carrie should do after she heard that from Miranda is to thank her.

If such a simple comment could make a man not to marry you, then you two were never meant to be together and it is exactly why you should thank your friend for pointing that out for you.

The second thing you should do is to think what is wrong between you and your man and figure out what makes your relationship so fragile that it can't even withstand one single comment.

Trust me, if a man really wants to marry you, he doesn't care even the whole world is against it, he would still wanna marry you.

Just like the gay marriage.

That one comment from Miranda did not persuade him in getting out of the car, he was already indecisive with his feelings and conflicted of the idea of getting married for the third time when he already had two failed marriages. I think he really started to reflect on himself that’s he’s the problem.

IMO, Carrie was still in the denial/anger phase. That's why she was almost trying to find something else to be the reason why Big didn't show up besides herself. So when she heard Miranda, she put the blame on her bc she couldn't face the truth that Big is and will always be an asshole.

Carrie said it herself, shes been mulling over why Big didnt show up to the wedding, and finally she found someone to blame - Miranda. All that pent up anger was released on her friend. Miranda was right about Big being bad for her, and in this scene she told carrie "please dont leave", she just wanted what was good for her. But Carrie stung Miranda back with her words... uncalled for.

OK so this has bugged me FOREVER. Carrie ABSOLUTELY lied to Miranda when she bumped into her after sleeping with big again and told her that she was going for a teeth cleaning. She also cannot blame Miranda for her getting jilted when she made the whole wedding a media circus. Carrie is an awful friend. And it’s not just these examples before anyone comes for me 😂
