I love my Speed Queen washer and dryer. I did a lot of research before buying, and remembered what a couple appliance repair guys told me about how most of the new washers are made nowadays. To me, Speed Queen seems more like the old school washers that lasted longer than five years. Plus, my Speed Queen came with a five year warranty. LG comes with a one year that suspicious they only stand behind their washer for one year?

They are reliable. I know people with 16 year old lg front load washers with only 1 repair. Maintain them right and you'll get results. No technician would tell you speed queen should score the top because they do not clean the best by any stretch of the imagination. Especially the tr series. While they may be reliable, they aren't the most reliable for stain removal. Maybe check what's being scored before you rearrange the leaderboard.

Cost is also a major factor in those rankings.

When they don't have a reliability score it's usually because it's a newer product and they don't have enough info.

They are also extremely thorough in their testing and follow manufactuers instructions to the tea regarding load settings types of stains etc...

Another thing, my Speed Queen washes so much faster than my previous Samsung, and also has a true deep water fill if I so choose to use it. I can't say enough about my Speed Queen. I do wish I'd bought the model a few years before my current model, and it came with a couple options I wish my machine had, but other than that I'm super happy with it.

I had an LG that I bought about 5 or 6 years ago. Every wash was a nightmare. It would throw a code nearly every time. Mostly out of balance although it was spinning smooth as ice. Sometimes getting a load of clothes washed took up to 2 hours or a drive to the laundromat. I bought a Speed Queen TC5 about 3 weeks ago. This thing gets it done. Each wash is done in less than 30 minutes and I instantly noticed how much cleaner the clothes were after the first wash. So far no out of balance issues. I do wish it had a slightly faster rpm spin speed to extract water but if that option creates a lower build and reliability problem than I can live without the high speed.

On the tc5 turn options control to extra rinse, turn cycle selector to spin..Washer will rinse then go to final spin.

Consumer reports rated the Whirlpool Calypso a Best Buy for like 10 years running and it was the biggest pos ever made. Go look it up around 2000-2008. They’re a joke, the LG may work fine and be efficient but to me if a washer can’t consistently last ten years (without major repairs) it’s garbage.

That is because this washer is too brand new to predict its reliability, I'm sure that its testing will get updated in the near future.

As much as I absolutely hate Speed Queen, probably there biggest hater, I still have no choice but to say it is the most reliable in today's market. But as for HE machines, LG I'm very sure is the most reliable and I'd take that over speed queen any day!

I don't consider any brand to be the best at everything unless it's during a certain time period. As of right now my opinions are pretty mixed.

Every brand seems to struggle with something while some are just horrible.
Whirlpool: their control panels while easy to use, suck now, not stylish, Whirlpool is trying to hard to make their high end machines look like smart phones. Their new high end top loaders suck badly at turnover.

General Electric: nice old school brand, decent styling and adverage quality for today, their suspension systems on the other hand suck to no end. Weak suspension out of factory.

Frigidaire/ Electrolux: ok brand also but quality and performance is inconsistent and depends on what you get.

LG makes great front loading washers and good cleaning and ok quality (by today’s standards) top loading machines. However their kitchen appliances are not good. Their refrigerators and air conditioners burn out circuit boards and compressors to no end.

Samsung: poor everything all around but if I had to pick something I’d say their ice makers on their refrigerators and idler pulleys on their dyers suck.

I ditched my Samsung washer and got a Speed Queen DC5003. I love it, finally clean cloths but there are a few things that drive me nuts about it. No load size selection and if after the load is done you realize they need another rinse there's no way to just do another rinse, you have to run it through a whole wash cycle. I paid over $1050.00 dollars for it, it's kind of inexcusable.

LG Sucks!!! I had a LG top of the line washer a few years back and I had the control board replaced 4 times in 6 months because the board kept catching fire!!! I asked for my money back and LG would not do it because the store that I bought it from did not want to get involved and get stuck with a defective machine so I was left holding the bag!!! I paid $2, 000 for the washer and dryer set with the extended warr. and in just 6 months time the machine was out in the garbage!!! I will never own another LG appliance ever again!!!

Would never own another LG product. Corporate headquarters closed due to pandemic no customer service and I had deal with overseas customer service that was a joke from 11/20-4/21 on a brand new LG $1500 stove that had several issues. Keep your trashy product.
