Commercial A&P here, this is definitely my new favorite channel. That 310 looks like an absolute basket case, terrible idea for sure... which is exactly why you should do it. That is the kind of wild ride you can sell tickets too! I'll be waiting for the "Save the 310" t-shirts to hit the market so we can all help fund this bankruptcy in progress.

There's good news and bad news, Jimmy.
The good news. The gas cap is perfect.
The bad news. We have to replace everything else.

We have a local prop shop that does the 500 hour overhaul on those props, we had to do it on our 310 A model a little over a year ago. Save the 310! If not we may be interested in the engines. Let me know if you're interested in the prop overhaul.

Forget about the 310, it's parts now.

The aztruck is the way to go! You got lucky with it if it's as the mechanic says.

Jimmy, these numbers are way beyond my scope of understanding. A hope and a prayer are the best I can offer. I think that last phone call is the right path. Can't wait to see how this turns out. Thanks for Sharing!

Great story. Save the 310. My father rebuilt a 1948 Stinson 108-3 many years ago. Was a disassembled wreak, turned out to be a fabulous airplane. Once you are done with the 310 it will be worth well north of 50k with everything checked out and documented. I chartered a 310 over Lake Michigan many times. Really nice and useful airplane.

I am sure that you will be able to get the finds to do the 310, even if it sits for a while. You have already trucked it down, follow through with it. You know you want to see it back in the air, and we all do to. Do it!!!

Jimmy, because of your exuberance with your aircraft adventures & associated costs, I figured out the translation or meaning of AIRCRAFT: Always Injecting Reserve Cash Regularly At Frequent Thousands. Sort of like BOAT: Break Out Another Thousand? Great videos BTW!

"If there's anybody, that knows how to extort money from people? It's this guy... *ring-ring* Yeah, hi! Can I speak to Pastor Jim please?" Dude, that was brilliant!

Well like a thousand other people would like to see the 310 rebuilt..but have to agree its a lot of money...so my thought is if you have to do six months of paperwork and deal with the FAA why not make it experimental and do some thinking out of the box, like with the props etc. seems like there is a lot you could do like three-blade composite props, etc.

For the people wondering: the beeping sound in the glider is the sound of the electric vario. The faster it beeps the faster you climb. Normally I turn it off during takeoff and landing since it is quite annoying and turn it on when starting to find thermals.

Just about fell out of my chair when I saw "Priebe Prop Shop, Findlay OH". That's where I did almost all of my fixed wing training (private & commercial licenses, rotary & fixed wing). The prop work may have been done by Larry Priebe and/or his son Jim. Sadly the airfield they owned is gone, as is their business. Last time I talked to Jim (about 15 years ago) he was living in Florida. Great videos Jimmy!!

TAS Aviation in Defiance, OH are twin Cessna specialists. That's all they work on. They may be able to help/answer any odd questions as to the direction of your project 310.

What could possibly go wrong with an aircraft whose air worthiness certificate looks like the dead sea scroll's.
