How to Repair Playstation 4 Dualshock 4 Controller Charging Issue - PS4 DS4 won't charge sync

Has your Dual Shock 4 controller stopped working? Does it no longer charge or connect to you PlayStation 4?

In this video I show you how to get it working again! The issue here was the usb port board connected by the ribbon cable to the main board of the controller. We end up replacing the usb port board and using a new ribbon cable to fix the issue!

And speaking as a person who’s controller would not charge and would not light up (blue, red, yellow, etc) this route definitely works. I believe I a different component to the mother piece (JDS-011). I ordered from EBay for about 3-4 bucks. Guys, all it takes is a bit of perseverance, common sense, and basic knowledge to get your controller fixed. Without out you Khan XO I would’ve spent 60-70 bucks for a controller. I've looked all over the internet trying to fix the charge issue, I've seen people doing what looks like surgery on the controller (Literally) and I almost attempted to do it and then finally found the solution on my own, it was just a faulty charging cable 🤦‍♂️

Hey man I did everything according to your video, got the model number and was ready to order it. But as soon as I put everything back to together, in a last ditch effort I tried to charge it again, and it worked. The only thing I did outside of your video was simply just blowing and wiping out the dust around the inside, but other than that IDK what i did to make it work. But if it wasnt for your step by step clear and precide instructions, It probably never wouldve worked again, cause I tried numerous other options. So thanks a lot man.

What worked for me was putting a paper clip into the hole. It reset my controller, and now it’s charging. Thanks dude! 1:05

For god sake, I have just repaired my own ps4 controller O_O thank you!
It took me pretty much up to one hour, as I have never done that before.


My usb socket was wasted to the point of no return (not charging anymore), so I had to replace it, thanks to your video I got to know how and what to look out for, either not to destroy things or important information like number of the usb board.
I have paid for new board like 2.5$ U.S.! where for new controller .. sigh!

Both of my controllers don’t work. I haven’t used my ps4 for about a half a year. But they work for just about a second when I have them in a cable but then they shut off

I didn’t have that problem I was just having my ps4 cable for the ps4 cable was loose I just got a tool to make the both ends of the cable tight but this video was interesting to watch lol good explanation bro

I bought a purple "for parts" DS4 for $20 with the plan to fix it. Before doing anything, I pressed the home button, and got a red flashing light. Then plugged it in and got no charging light, but it would then flash white when pressing the home button. Then I squirted some 90% alcohol in the port, blew in it a few times, then let it sit port down for an hour. Plugged it into the console and it worked.

So consider trying to just wash it out with a little alcohol too. Could just be dirty.
