I find it funny how PaperMate's "Advanced" Mechanical Pencil is a "Bog Standard & Basic" Mechanical Pencil for other companies.

Grew up in the 80s and Pentel, Scripto, and Paper Mate were my favorites as they are today!

The paper-mate pencils were worth big bucks in terms of trading in 3rd grade, even though they were terrible. Keep up the great content!

This is a rest of my life type pencil. Feels perfect in my hands, and i like the heavier weighting. Only other pencil that rivals this is the Zebra m350 MP. PaperMate won me over with this product

I would have loved to be standing next to you in Target when you had the existential crisis of deciding whether or not to purchase this pencil... Thanks for the review. Always a great day when Clutch Situation uploads!

I just picked this pencil up at target. I wanted to see if clutch got one and I wasn’t disappointed lol. This is a solid pencil. I was shocked

I remember when I was younger in 2nd grade these lead pencils were like a way to flex your money because so little people had them.

Thanks for your contributions to us stationary nerds! This came up on Amazon for super cheap with a coupon and YT gave me your review right away. Definitely work $7 for two with knurled metal bodies and a brass clutch!

I've had this pencil for a few days and here is what I can say so far:

-- Zebra M erase is just a fraction of a millimeter too big.
-- This pencil's eraser is about 3.5 to 3.75mm in diameter.
-- The rOtring Tikky eraser will fit, but you have to jam it into the eraser dock.
-- The Papermate Advanced is available in 0.5 and 0.7mm lead sizes.
-- The lead sleeve is 3mm in length.
-- There are plastic rings near the nose cone and the pocket clip.
-- I like the ringed knurling, or however it is called, all throughout the body.
-- The pencil has a good weight to it.

It looks like this pencil may be able to use the Zebra "M" small eraser that fits the M-301/M-701 mechanical pencils. Either that or the rOtring Tikky/300/Rapid Pro eraser with the metal brace thing taken off. Those may be better erasers to use instead.

Other than that, it looks like an interesting pencil and I'd like to give it a try. Thank you for showing us this.

I am looking for a mechanical pencil with an excellent eraser. What mechanical pencil would you recommend?

I just got a pair of these in silver and black, 0.5 version. Is your 0.7's sleeve a tiny bit wide too? My lead is dancing all over the place, not enough to cause it to break, but it travels. Both pencils. They're the only pencils I have that exhibit traces of latency, which is bizzare af to me haha. Still mulling over returning them and grabbing a pair of Zebra M-350's which finally dropped to a fair price in Canada. (In relation to US prices)

I compared the sleeve with a Stein P315 and the PaperMates are definitely wider.

Where can I buy eraser refills for this pencil? The eraser tubes size is 0.4mm x 1cm

I've recently bought a mechanical pencil for cheap at a thrift store but I can't tell what model it is. It looks similar to the one in the video but without the 'clicker'. It says PAPER MATE on the front and USA on the back of the top piece. (Which can be removed to reveal a rubber/eraser) If you spin the top a very thin piece of lead comes out. It has a chrome body and a black plastic-like piece where you would hold it to write; does anyone have any idea what this is?

Good video mate!
I'd love to see a video made by you about the most durable pencil under 20 dollars, that would be interesting i think
