You can use 0.5 mm ballpoint pens as they don't have bold letters

I am Japanese and I use this mechanical pencil often.
Japanese language has complicated Kanji characters, so I can use it to write in detail in a small space.
When I write English, on the other hand, I use a pencil because a thin pencil will break.

Then there's me who rotates my whole pen as I write for some reason 😂

I’m the opposite, I like bold letters and I choose my pens accordingly.

this is actually so helpful for architects and engineers who uses technical drawing. I had a hard time using pencils while drawing I wish I had that pencil tbh.

as an artist that uses mechanical pencils, i tend to rotate my pencils constantly so they stay on the sharp edge. if you do it long enough it becomes second nature

For those wondering what the pencil is, the Uni Kuru Toga is the name. Uni makes very good pencil products, although in my opinion I believe Rotring is ultimately a better brand in terms of quality writing utensils.

Things that make sense in Japan

1. I have to do my homework

I've owned two and love them. But I find that I naturally change the position of the pencil every now and then while I'm writing, so the whole point of this doesn't actually make much of a difference for me.
If you're someone who always keeps the pencil still, in the same position while writing, then it will do its job and keep the tip always sharpened automatically, therefore preventing different thickness levels in the lines.

Did your teacher ask you to write 'Youtube' countless times cuz we've been there. 🙂

As a draftsman in my early days, I learned to write and draw while slowly turning the pencil. when you get used to it you dont need to sharpen it!

Japan: we put an engine in your pen so you don't tire your fingers by rotating a pen so your letters don't look quarter a millimeter thicker.

I actually like when the mechanical pencil has a bold tip bc I feel its smoother

I actually like that it wears down unevenly, since by dulling one side you're actually sharpening the tip. Just turn the pencil over and it's sharp again!
