- According to Myth: A Frozen Tale, the fifth spirit is also known as the “human spirit”, but it is assumed to have been represented by humanity in general before Elsa and Anna’s births.
- According to Northuldra legend, the spirits' mother is Ahtohallan.[2] Iduna also heard stories of other spirits, such as elves and fairies from the arctic lands that had taught the Northuldra their songs.[3]
- Elsa and Bruni are the only spirits who are actually living creatures while the others are the elements they represent: water, rock, and wind.
- The directors have confirmed that Elsa and Anna are both the fifth spirit, as in that their bond is what united the Enchanted Forest and Arendelle, though Elsa is still considered the OFFICIAL fifth spirit.
- Both Anna and Elsa were required to lift the curse: Elsa by taming three of the spirits and discovering the cause of the curse in Ahtohallan, and Anna by destroying the dam and undoing their grandfather's damage.
- Ironically, while Anna lifted the curse over the forest and became the new queen of Arendelle, Elsa stopped Arendelle from being destroyed (by the released flood) and left to live with the other spirits.
- Elsa's magic was unable to get through the mist that surrounded the Enchanted Forest, but it parted when she and Anna held hands and she touched the mist. This hinted early on that both sisters share the role and are both necessary to lift the curse.
- The directors also confirmed that, despite becoming the fifth spirit, Elsa is still human and therefore mortal. It is unknown if this applies to the other spirits as well.
- It's possible that Bruni shares this trait with Elsa as they are both organic, unlike the other spirits.
- That would mean that the spirits are either semi-immortal, in which they do not age, but will still die if injured, or can they still die naturally, in which case nature will create another spirit in their place.
- Furthermore, in some movies, such as Spirited Away, spirits are still somewhat physical living creatures that can be injured and die like "mortals" despite their powers.
- In many mythologies, spirits are not necessarily immortal, though they can live for a long time.
- According to Agnarr, the spirits came from a "magic as old as the glaciers". Iduna also states that all magic in the Enchanted Forest, including Elsa's and the spirits', comes from Ahtohallan, which is a frozen river (glacier).
- The spirits all have a connection to Ahtohallan. Bruni and Elsa were able to hear its calls while others, such as Anna and Kristoff, were not.
Despite this, they are not immune to its curse, as Elsa ended up being frozen upon going too deep into the river.
- Each of the spirits are based off a mythological creature or animal associated with their element. Salamanders have historically been associated with fire, the Earth Giants are similar to jötunns of Norse mythology (which are sometimes associated with mountains), the Nokk is a Scandinavian creature that takes the form of a horse before trying to drown you, and Gale could possibly be a Sylph, a wind-fairy spirit.

I believe that the 5th element represents Elsa’s family. Let me explain
The two lines splits the 5th element into 4 diamonds which could be Elsa, Anna, and their parents. Elsa and her mom are similar as they both seem to have powers, powers related to wind and water. Elsa’s is obvious, but her mom. Elsas mother when she was escaping the forest had gale(the wind spirit) helping her. When she died, it was in water with the water spirit, representing the line linking the wind and water spirit, same with elsa having ice powers. Anna and her father are more difficult to explain. Their father in the forest scene was knocked into a rock by a rock that was thrown by the earth spirit, The rock was also thrown through fire made by the fire spirit representing that link. I don’t have anything on Anna, but I believe she is apart of it because the rest of her family does too, and I think she represents it the same way as her dad because of their related relevance in the storyline. Her dad was king, and now she is queen because they are really similar physically and spiritually. Same with Elsa and their mom, the mom lived in the forest and now Elsa lives in the forest.

Pay attention to the patterns of the elemental snowflake. Colored diamonds are symbols of the elements. The rest is the Fifth Spirit, that is, Elsa. Why are there rhombuses on the arrowheads? The answer is easy: these little things show that Elsa is one of the Spirits. Disney is very fond of little things that few people can notice.. For example, the same two diagonal lines, between which there are elemental crystals of rhombuses. As you can see, these diagonal arrows grow DIRECT from the core of the snowflake, and they enclose the elements among themselves, as if hinting that the Fifth Spirit keeps the rest of the elements in check.
9:01 There are some things to know about Ahtohallan:
1. The river is not a Spirit, although it has an inextricable connection with them. This can be seen from the symbols engraved on the ice, which we see in the song "Show yourself.". Between them is a cave that Elsa enters into..
2. This River is the most powerful living thing in the Enchanted Forest. Yes you are not wrong. This River is alive and even intelligent, as a person, and, given its ability to store information about the past, as well as her ancient age, she is infinitely wise. Is a kind of deity.

1. Water is responsible for making ice and snow.
2. Air allows Elsa to control the ambient temperature and create hurricanes, blizzards and the like.
3. Earth. Well, this is already very interesting. Have you noticed that the Earth Giants resemble Marshmallows, Olaf and little snowmen with their disproportionate limbs? This is the first - the Earth allows Elsa to create living creatures from ice and snow.

They appeared at the very end of the second part, when Nokk and Elsa were running across the frozen sea: Earth allows Elsa to build massive structures of ice. It can be seen in her ice palace: if you look closely, you can see disproportionate pillars of different sizes during construction, which will invariably have six corners, resembling a snowflake.
And the last thing. The earth grants Elsa herself passive abilities such as superhuman stamina, resilience and, most likely, physical strength.. Remember how in the first part she reached the North Mountain in a few hours and did not look exhausted.
She was also able to tirelessly run on the water in the second part, she had the strength to fight with Nokk and further parkour in Ahtohallan. Only one scene in which she jumps on ice pillars of what is worth. And barefoot and from such an impressive height. And the scene where she jumps from a fifty-meter height straight into the depths of Ahtohallan?
4. Well, the most controversial thing is Fire.
Remember what will happen if you leave at least one spark unattended? For some time from this spark, a fire of enormous size will turn out, right?
Now remember how it was said everywhere that Elsa's powers were growing incessantly. Get the hint, yeah?
Roughly speaking, Fire is responsible for the power of magic that is born in the River, which is why it is initially strong in itself.

When u said "is there another Elsa?" Maybe since Anna is her sis then she has powers too but doesn't know it yet... Plot twist! Also i mean if Anna doesn't have any powers then it's impossible that Elsa has powers.. unless.. their not related

I think Rapunzel may be one of the spirits. Remember the story found in the secret chamber of the ship used by Elsa and Anna's parents? There was the Sun symbol which as shown in the Rapunzel Movie, was the symbol that represents Rapunzel herself.

This is the possibility I have. And of course, there could be more.

It always begs me to question why the Nokk chose to let Iduna and everyone on her ship perish if she is the previous 5th spirit. Did her status of being the 5th spirit nullified when she gave birth to Elsa? Did this actually matter? Shouldn't the Nokk at least celebrate Iduna's victory over proving that she can show love by rescuing a foreigner, which effectively challenges Agnar's father's murderous attempt at her people, thus allowing Iduna entry to Attohallan?

I most likely believe that Iduna's status got nullified (or transferred) as soon as Elsa came into the picture and became dubbed as "the gift", and later with Anna as "the bridge". It's like Iduna's function over righting the wrong done by Agnar's father was finished by marrying Agnar to give birth to the new 5th spirit representative(s). With this . . . Iduna was allowed to die, if so she decides to cross to Attohallan beyond the consent of the spirits, or at least not until her daughters destroys the dam first.

Iduna didn't have to be someone extraordinary, she just didn't fight, but she wanted to help, which is why the wind spirit listened to her. And as for Nokk, he didn't let Iduna die, because you might as well say that the ice-controlling Elsa froze herself, especially since after Iduna and Agnar fled the forest and the fog appeared the spirits left and only affected people when Elsa summoned them, so Nokk certainly didn't affect the sea during Iduna's trip to Atohallan.

My 2 minute theory is that in Frozen 3, Elsa hears another voice, similar but different from the voice in Frozen 2. But before Elsa starts hearing the voice, she has a dream about her parents and their deaths. I believe this dream will hold many different clues to who the other elements are. I am most likely REALLY off with this, but I believe that we will see an element that is not only more powerful than Elsa herself, but is the CREATOR of all the ELEMENTS and also RULER of a land that nobody in HUMANITY knows about. I believe that Elsa will uncover a SECRET PORTAL to this world, and come face-to-face with this mysterious element/ruler/god-goddess type thing. Like I said, I am most likely 100 percent off with this idea, but I gave it a shot. Love the videos, such great ideas.

Have you ever read a frozen book? There was a book about Elsa visiting a foreign kingdom and the Queen has powers like Elsa, but heat powers that could be the other Elsa in the element writings!

I don’t think there are other other “spirits” I think the what showed up when Elsa stepped in the middle of the elements was a snowflake that just holds the other elements together and keeps them in check. That’s why she stays and rules there and Anna rules arendel. I also don’t think it’s elsas mom singing. I think it is atahalan singing using her moms voice.
