Yes, Africa is a great continent. It is bad to think about such a diverse place being a source of punishment. The marrying to chief part is also definitely ignorant and prejudiced, though kind of expected for someone like the vain villain to say.

On the other hand, I don't think the general punishment of being sent to Africa is because it is fully perceived as a bad continent. Being forcibly sent abroad is a common punishment in Chinese movies, and it is partially because of their society. Personally, I think Chinese nationals have the hardest time integrating into other societies compared to other countries' citizens. Think language-wise and the firewall. Most Chinese would probably learn English and/or an Asian language, not French/Spanish/Dutch or African languages. Africa also has the smallest Chinese community when compared to other continents.
