I picked up an 05 636 for $1200 and am making it a project bike! Just rebuilt the forks on my own and am learning a lot

I drove 3 hours to Chicago to buy a 03-04 636 with no plastics “runs fine no noise” for 1500 and I was fine if it had damage but I got there and the meet time was at 9. Guy showed up at 11:30 lifters were ticking leaking oil and gas and smoking frame was cracked front and rear tire were on wires, man was I pissed

Wanted an 03/04 for a long time but just bought myself an 06 instead. Couldn’t find a nice 03/04 and I really like the 05/06 looks. It needed some work but it only has 7k miles. I paid way too much but now that I’m done with it it’s a really nice example.
