I really wish the new version would have retained the reverse-charging feature. There's real value in having a flashlight that allows you to leave your power bank brick at home. Other 18650 lights (such as Wurkkos) provide this important feature; Sofirn should be no different.

I have both the 23 and 24 (non-pro). I got the 24 for the same reason you mention regarding the holster. I also frequently use my 24 hooked on the back of my waist belt during dog walks, running the beacon mode with red light. It just makes me feel a bit more noticeable. And then use the higher output of the 23 for my hand light. Both are great values for sure.

I do love the idea of switching out the colored side emitters with UV though... Maybe they'll hear you and come out with a new variant. Side models are all the rage these days. IF24U or something like that.

Reminds me of the Lumintop EDC05C but it's a bit smaller & w/o the reverse charging functionality.

It's great to have choices! I looked at the IF24 and chose the IF23 (as well as a couple of Sofirin Lanterns) due to the reverse charging. We lose power due to storms from time to time in Houston, and it's always great to have long lasting lights and power banks.

Use of 18650 is a deal breaker for me. Don’t use reverse charging much, but good backup feature to have
Don't need all the color modes, just white, red & red/blue will do for me

Don’t need the disco 🪩 lights show but a red & yellow, constant on or alternating can be useful in traffic or rescue.
Looks like a good upgrade.

Improving the user interface is definitely what I'm looking for (controls such as rotating ring, slider, rotary knob, bezel ...). I think this is the right way to combine many functions and ease of use. Omitting the power bank functionality is a minus.

Im a big fan of sofrin. I have 2 lights from them. The sp31pro and IF22a ive had both for nore then a year. Im very hard on gear. These flashlights are the best you can find for the money. Id put them up against any nitecore or olight.
I like a flashlight with uv and red light. Id like to be able to use red without having to lose night vision.
I definitely need to get this light.
Its a design i could really use as a mechanic.

I have both. Like the size and useful battery size of the IF23. The 23 has some real challenges with the UI. So I would have preferred another 21700 sized IF24 but man that UI is a vast improvement. So Sofirn also makes a IF24 Pro with a SFT40 LED, I want one of those also, I just wish that had gone with a 21700, after all you got the IF24 in a smaller 18650 for people that want a smaller carry light. Thanks for keeping up with the most popular lights on this channel. 👍

I just bought a little budget light from sofirn its the sc 13 and its packs a lot of punch for something under 3". And has a 1300lm turbo i think its the best olight sr1 alternative/killer. Nice vid btw cheers

What did you use the UV light for? I would love if more very small lights had a dedicated red light mode. That's great for night vision protection. I have no use for any other color.
