These names sound so much better in an Italian accent, and what a wonderful gentleman your dad is. Bravo.

I'm italian but watching this anyway for the fun of it, also the fact that your father's name is pretty much the same of a Lancia model makes this all more on theme

Very well done. "Countàch" is piedmontese and means something like "Blast! No way!!". It is pronounced with stress on the a and ends like "detach". On a side note, most Lancias in the 60s trough the 80s were produced in Chivasso (TO).

So nice to be introduced to your dad, you need to get dad on a road test for father's day in his favorite Italian car. ❤

Love this. There’s plenty of well known motoring journalists that should watch this video.
I cannot understand how almost all of them pronounce Lancia wrong

Ciao Giacomo!! 😀 I have been a follower of your channel for quite a while now (with another account, BTW). I didn't know of your Italian origins, but I can tell you that you are one of the few Britons who can pronounce Italian names correctly and now I can see why!! Your channel is fantastic and your reviews are amazing!! My favourite is that of the Alfa Romeo 155 Q4, one of my favourite cars since I was a child! I still own her direct relative, the Fiat Tempra, and I love basically all the models based on the Tipo 3 platform! However, your videos entertain me every day and I am so glad to see your appreciation for Italian models, especially some that are getting forgotten as time goes by!! Saluti da Varese, Lombardia!!! 😊 Gabriele

My dad was a modern languages teacher speaking French, Italian and Spanish like a native. He was a massive stickler for the properly accented pronunciation. He said learning a Romance language was easy if you just put on the accent. He also used to take great pleasure in explaining what Italian footballers names were in English, such as Allesandro Altobelli was Tall and beautiful Alexander

What a charming and different video. My first 2 cars were Lancias and my Italian mechanic would always correct me on my frequent visits to his shop.

This was back in South Africa (uk based now) and it was a rusty old Beta 2000 coupe and then a beautiful Thema 2l turbo. Such fond memories with those cars.
