Shopping at a normal supermarket will be for the affluent?

God help us. Tough times are coming.

I feel investors should focus on under-the-radar stocks, considering the current rollercoaster nature of the stock market, Because 35% of my $270k portfolio comprises plummeting stocks that were once revered. I don't know where to go here out of devastation.

Enjoy food-like substitutes at lower than extreme prices. You see, we love our peasants.

no frills clearly still too much excitement for regular canadians.

The problem is they won't have everything you need for ONE stop! You will still need to go elsewhere.

With 90% of those 1, 300 food items classed as 'junk food'. That'll be great for growing children.

Yeah those generic ultra processed ...I wouldn't call it food. It's more like a ration in a post apocalyptic movie..

So this "Expert" was brought on to say he thinks there's a value for discounted groceries in these highly inflationary, price gouging times. Any random dude off the street could have stated the obvious.

It's clearly just a dollar store competitor (no frozen and likely no fresh foods). It's not even an ALDI since that store is actually a fully fledged grocery store.

So Roblaw wants to jump into Dollar store market as well 😵‍💫. No frills are the most dirtiest stores and Loblaws think they can go even lower while keeping prices ' Competitive ' to themselves

This is not a positive development. People shopping there will not have access to quality food. It also doesn’t compare to European discount grocers like Aldi and Lidl - they have everything any other grocery has, just less brand selection.

Great, what could go wrong with monopolizing more of the Canadian food supply

It's not a food bank. It's Food Bank+™

Canadian's can thank liberal voters for this crisis. Canada's fascination with socialism / mass immigration / social justice, will be its undoing. See Canadian's still haven't gotten the memo; socialism makes EVERYONE equally poor, except of course the small veneer of people at the very top. The only question I have, is how much longer can Canadian's afford to keep playing this game...

Fooling canadain again . Competition is a solution only

The breadth of available products and product lines is getting smaller, less grocery selection. Producers are beginning to default, layoffs en mass. If BoC rates are cut, Canada will be missed for decades. See you on the other side, again.

Because of gout and lactose intolerance, I don't eat meat or dairy, so not selling meat or dairy is fine with me.
