What is up my Eryibros and welcome to a Pokemon Theory Today we are going to be discussing the possibility of Volcarona being a Legendary Pokemon. Throughout the pokemon games Volcarona has been mistaken countless amount of times for a Legendary Pokemon. But what if gamefreak intended for Volcarona to be a legendary? Honestly, I would've loved Volcarona to be a pseudo legendary since it has almost all attributes, they could've just raised a bit more its base stat to 600, gave it a middle evo, like a flaming cocoon and we would've had the first ever bug type pseudo legend ! And it wouldn't have been the first time GameFreak made two pseudo for the same region.

Still, love the theory and possibly purpose Volcarona might've had :-)

Great pair of videos! I love when Pokemon appear earlier than when they were released. As for Volcarona being a legendary, I would say that by definition it is, since it has a legend surrounding it.

🙋 excuse me but I dare to disagree. I believe that those flowers are hibiscus flowers, the state flower of Hawai'i. seeing as the Sun and Moon games are taking place in Hawai'i (Alola, actually) there's a good chance that the legendary Pokemon depicted in that book is Solgaleo. and yes I know that this video was posted before the information for Sun and Moon were released. I'm just pointing this out from my thought....

Maybe originally there was only one Volcarona, and when it replaced the sun, the tiger lily flowers turned into Larvestas. Maybe that's why there is multiple Volcaronas, and why it was considered a legendary.

Watching this theory now I realized that the sun page in the book is referencing Solagleo, the Sun legendary. Plus the 7th gen games have a lot of references to flowers like on the page.

One thing to take note is that on the pokedex, Larvesta/Volcarona comes after Hydreigon which is the Gen 5's Pseudo Legendary. Although Pseudo Legandaries doesn't always come before the Legandaries and Mythicals(Gen 4 and Gen6), I think that is still an indication that Volcarona line could have been a Legendary pokemon.

Awesome theory. Not gona lie, volcarana is by far my favorite Gen 5 pokemon and it's always nice to see it get some respect!
