How to Make RC DIY Hawker Hurricane MKII & Sequential Printing - Fully 3D Printed Airplane

The Hawker Hurricane is a single seat, fixed wing fighter plane that flew mainly between the 1930’s and 40’s during WWII. It was designed for and primarily used by the Royal Air Force, which is the paint scheme I went with. It was one of the fastest flying planes in the war when it was debuted, and its fire power was incredible. This version of a Hawker Hurricane MKII is a 3D printed plane with a 41.75” wingspan and has retractable landing gear. It weighs about 820g RTF with a 3s 2200 lipo battery and is a great park flyer, mirroring its scale-counterpart with its speed and maneuverability.

Wingspan: 1060 mm / 41,73 inch
Lenght: 800 mm / 31.5 inch
Wing area: 19,57 dm2 / 2.10 square feet
Wing loading: 34.7 g/dm2 / 11.41 oz/square feet
Takeoff weight (3s 2200 lipo): 820g

Thanks for this video. You mentioned the feature for sequential printing is available in both Prusa Slicer and Cura at 1:00 but didn't mention how it is done in Cura.

The paint job is dope! YOUR ATTEN❤TION TO DETAIL IS EXCEPTIONAL! Wish you would do a video on all the set up, especially how you perfectly bend and cut your control horn wires on your ailerons, elevator and rudder horns. Again great job and exceptional video. Cheers.

I could not find in the 3MFs files (10:16), that PLA fat washer and nose cover. Are they customized by you?

Your tutorials have inspired me to start printing planes myself. My first plane is on the printer now!

Always great to watch your videos. Fun to watch and easy to learn from!

Flies so much better than the Spitfire as a model, more wing area....Looks fantastic TBF....🤔😳😳...Yes, the multi printing, I never understood why they didn't do this obvious solution years ago ...😳😏🇬🇧

Thanks for the matte acrylic paint idea. That paint is very inexpensive and widely available. Also nice nowadays not to have to worry about things being "fuelproof"

Both of your talents put together made a really nice finish product. I can’t swallow the shipping on that filament. Makes sense if you buy multiple rolls though. Nice work.

Nice job. Lovely build quality. I’ll add this one to my winter building. Thanks for the printer tip. I’m thinking of buying a Bambu X1 carbon this year to replace my old Ender3DPro. We’re messing around with 75% scale builds and PolyAir of 3DLabs Spitfire and P51D Mustang. Tip stalling is a major issue with these warbirds. A lot of learning still to be done.
