There should be no taxes on Social Security. People pay into this and should not be taxed.

Stop giving ss to losers who never paid in

The thought of retirement makes me cry. My apologies to everyone who have retired and filing social security during this time after putting in all those years of work just to lose everything to a problem you never imagined to happen. It’s so difficult for people who are retired and have no savings to fall back on.

The 2.5% increase has turned out to be a net loss after considering they raised the part B copay more than the increase. Laughable!!!

For clarity, the full retirement age earnings limit applies only to months prior to reaching full retirement age in the year you reach full retirement age. After reaching full retirement age, there is no longer an earnings limit. You can earn any amount and SS will not be reduced from there forward.

My increase was eaten away due to increased medicare costs. My payment went down.

I still don’t see how I will benefit other than receiving the 2.5 % COLA. FYI, I’m sure anyone drawing SS benefits knows 2.5 % per month may just pay for one tank of gasoline, maybe. Definitely won’t be buying any rib eye steaks.

That 50$ increase is gone before it arrives.

Remember several years ago when there was No increase? I do. Your S.S. check is based on what you put into it. Years worked, etc. It is sad when people that never saved a dime are realizing the cost of retirement. No emergency fund, etc. I wonder if they ever thought about what a gallon of milk will cost in say 10 years? Get out of debt, that is the key to your retirement.

Well, no matter what, Medicare premiums will go up in January. Same stuff, different year.

2.5 might not be so bad but Medicare going to get most of that which I don't think we should have to pay at all
