Met Gary many times, he is 80 this year and crowds still can't enough him and the band. Gary is a God given sweetheart they don't come any more talented or nicer than Gary Puckett. Thanks again for everything you have given us Gary. Bill Feilhauer

Gary was born in my hometown. I see him occasionally bowling in Clearwater, FL, where he now resides.

Between 1967- 1970 I lived in Naples, Italy. Would frequent a nightclub called. The Cactus. Each time i entered the club the band would start playing Young Girl. I'll never forget those days or the song I loved. Thanks for the memories I'll cherish forever.

I really love listening to his music. Probably my favorite singer. I can remember listening to him as a 15-year-old in 1968.

I met him twice in Phoenix when my band opened for him around 20 years ago. He was a hell of a nice guy.

Thanks for all the good historical and present information. Very sorry to hear about the passing of Kerry Chater. RIP. A very good songwriter, who wrote the classic Union Gap song, "Wait Till The Sun Shines On You". Another favorite of mine that he co-wrote was "So Hard Living Without You", a beautiful minor hit from 1978 by Airwaves which reached #62. Highly recommended for soft rock lovers.
I met Gary and talked with him several times. Very nice person.

At age 82 Gary Puckett is still performing. The Union Gap lost all its momentum when Kerry Chater and Mutha Withem left the group to take jobs with AnM Records Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss’ company. It was a DJ in Columbus, Ohio that started playing Woman, Woman and the rest is history. “Young Girl “ went to #1 in 🇬🇧 UK, Canada, and Australia 🇦🇺. Gary still tours Australia every other year. For me the greatest songs of The Union Gap were all written By Gary Puckett. Could I, A Simple Man, The Beggar and If the Day Would Come, a ballad Gary co- wrote with Kerry Chater and Mutha Withem. At first each member of The Union Gap received 20 % each. Then Jerry Fuller changed the contract to 36% for Gary and 16% each for the other members which caused animosity between the members. If anyone is interested Gary Puckett appeared on Nashville, Now in 1984 and sang Woman, Woman with guest Jim Glaser whom Gary had never met. Then Gary did an acoustic version of Woman, Woman with Jim Glaser and acoustic versions of Young Girl, Lady Willpower and Over You.

I saw Gary at Hersheypark in the early '90s. I was so surprised. His voice was spot on and he was no spring chicken then. He really was great!!!!❤

When the Monkees reunited in the 1980's, I went to their Pittsburgh show. Gary Pucket (minus the Union Gap Band) was one of the opening acts. He had a real powerful voice and sounded almost as good in concert as he did in studio recordings. (Couldn't say the same for the Monkees though....) In 2010, while doing a military tour as a US Army Reservist in UK, I went to an Oldies concert in UK. Among the acts advertised was the Union Gap Band. In truth, this was the Union Gap Band UK and it of course lacked Gary Puckett or any other original members of the band. Its only ties to the real Union Gap Band was the keyboardist who had joined the band just before its breakup. The lead singer was decent but no one could do those songs like Gary Puckett!

I have a cassette tape from the 80's where he re-recoreded his hits for K-Tel records. Those versions sounded great !!
