Показать описание
Instructor: Dr. Claire Hirschfield, Professor Emerita, European History, Penn State University
From the program guide:
"The Great War ended and the Treaty of Versailles was negotiated in 1919
as people celebrated the new era of peace being born. But signs of an
ominous future had already surfaced: anti-alien riots in the US, nationalist
demonstrations in China and India, upheaval in Palestine and the first stirrings
of Fascism in Italy and Germany. The course will survey these and other issues
which arose in 1919 that indicated that the Twentieth Century would be like no
other in world history."
