I have been searching for something like this. It's like a giant breadboard without the initial step back a newbie may take when seeing a traditional breadboard.

Finally they did something like that.... M5Stack has been doing something similar since years for I2C (Groove) point-to-point connections but that Arduino solution is definitively better as it allows Daisy-Chain connections solutions sucks as multiple IO Units use the I2C bus pins with parallel inputs or outputs, and therefore you cannot use multiple I2C peripherals..)....On the other side that Arduino motherboard solution is just a mechanical platform ; M5Stack is better in that sense as most devices are LEGO compatible....
