Thanks for this demo. I've never played a J200, so it was nice to hear. I own more than a few guitars. They come and go, but the one that will never go - if I would only keep one - is my J45.

I prefer the J45. Both are nice, but the 45 just sounds better to me. The mids are more appealing, and has that perfect level of note decay for singing over the instrument.

Nice comparison. I play my J45 for its focus and my SJ200 for its open - almost orchestral - sound.

Harrison used a J200 for several songs because of its depth of sound. You can really hear it on "My Sweet Lord", but I have to say my J45 is a solid go to guitar that can stand with anything.

Both great but apples and oranges. They're very different. I have a 2017 SJ200. It's the best acoustic I ever owned, just a joy to play, and I've had some very nice guitars. Never played a J45 though but with the SJ200 I don't really have a desire to play other acoustics, I'm that happy with it. Nice purchase on your one man!

Awesome. That’s the dream - having both haha I personally prefer the J45 but I wouldn’t say no to the 200 either

I’d love to hear it with Gibson Master Strings. Just seems to get back that original Gibson tone.

Very different sounds, but both very beautiful sounds.

Great comparison with just these simple strumming. The J200 does have some highs compared to the J45. Both are great guitars to own.

Definitely the j45 would be my choice. Also like the shorter scale and it’s Half the price.

Brother I have a question ! I love rock music and I like playing acoustic songs ! So I am confused what brand to go for ! Taylor 812ce or Gibson. I liked the Martin d45 but it’s waaaay to expensive for me 8 k I can’t do that ! So the only option to chose is either Gibson or Taylor 812 series ?

My ears must be rubbish I just don't hear anything in the J200 that would make me rush out and hand over 5000 dollars.

My 60th birthday is this year...great excuse to buy a new and I thought i had settled on getting a Gibson Southern Jumbo. ( i really want a Santa Cruz but my wife would kill me.) Now I hear that J200 and all that rich low end...and the looks....omfg. Thank you for the comparison video.
How do you like the comfort? It's really big, and i play mostly sitting. It looks like the action is really low on your J200, I'm sure the playability is awesome.
Thanks again and congrats on the new guitar.

Reviews like this should use a quality mike. Otherwise they both sound like a cheap guitar

I owned a 1946 J-45.. bought it in 1965 for $100. Stolen, I miss it.
I have played quite a few J-200 models.. universally dead, and the tone killer pick-gaurd doesn't help.
