In Season 2 of Billions, Bobby 'Axe' Axelrod (Damian Lewis) uses his considerable resources to exact revenge on U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti). Axe's move sends Chuck reeling as he finds himself under investigation, forced to scramble to hang on to his office and his family.

The next episode is going to be interesting on many levels. Based on the trailer it looks like Lonny is going to admit to Dake that he had a strong case against Axlrod bribing cops to protect McDanzic but was forced to drop it at Chuck's request last minute. Lonny already betrayed Chuck earlier when he was dropped from a statue of liberty bombing plot case and leaked details about Chuck to a news reporter. Lonny was told by Brian that Chuck gave him his lead on the bribing allegations based on Wendy's sessions notes.The same Brian who tipped the AG's office about Chuck's misconduct that lead to this investigation. Chuck also based on his father's surveillance tape now knows that Brian is a rat - and he likely won't trust him again despite still having to work with him. It's also been revealed that Chuck's Father and Boyd have a strong relationship/friendship that Chuck leveraged without his father's knowledge to lure Boyd. Boyd didn't even reveal to Axlrod in the last two episodes that his source was Chuck Rhodes Sr despite Axlrod telling him that Chuck doesn't drop grudges.
