It is confirmed in interviews, even in the behind the scenes clips on YouTube of the 'Popular' video, from MIKA that he wrote this particular song, played it to Mr. Schwartz himself, and got the approval and BAM! Worldwide release for both of their albums.. So rip off of Wicked you may say, but Stephen Schwartz says differently. And even if it weren't a dedicated song, this song has been EPiiC from Day 1. ❤

I used to make my dad play this song on repeat in the car because at the time, it was my favorite song when I was younger. I bet he was annoyed as fuck whenever I asked him to play the song for the 100th time. But I was always happy listening to this song over and over again.
