Zuko was a very skilled fire bender and leader. But Toph was the earth bending GOAT.

The real oldest person was someone in the kiyoshi novels, he’s canonically at least a thousand years old, he’s probably immortal tho

Zuko was in extreme cold during the fight.
Nothing else about it.
Pli couldn't even firebend without the warmth of the Dragons attack near her.
Keep in mind that wasnt normal cold, they were near the coldest location in the planet and therefore the coldest overall area.

Night time, most extreme cold, fire is weaker at the poles etc.

Zuko was heavily weakened.
He even felt the need to wear warmer clothing.

You could see he had thin and reddish flames, this happens when a firebender is nearly completely depowered.

And he still actually fought on par for 2:50 minutes, yes we only saw 12 seconds but he we already saw him ran at Ghazan 2:40 minutes ago and then it just focused on Tonraq and Zaheer.
We didnt saw the fight, only the end of the fight.


With all those disadvantages Zuko would likely only be maybe at 1/4th of his full power.
Fighting on par with Ghazan for 2:50 minutes while heavily nerfed means at full power he is still far above Gahzan, Mako and Bolin but should be below Tenzin


Their prime btw was canonically when we see in the infamous Old Friends poster where Zuko is 36 years old and Toph is 32 years old.
And no Book 3 Toph isnt even close to her prime, she is stronger in the comics later, her attire at 24 year olds symbolises growth and later in Legacy Of the Fire Nation she implies she is more powerful than Iroh

Iroh teaching Zuko to stay warm doesnt mean he can stay at full power
It just lets you have some firebending at ALL.
Without that method you are fully depowered.

Even Zukos dragon was using normal fire instead of dragon fire showing that even a dragon was heavily weakened.(Even 19 year old Zuko used Dragon Fire in the comics albeit under desperation)



Making a comparison with Toph is fooliness
You would have to put Zuko at the Fire Nations warmth for that.

Most of the time prime physique for people is at 30-40 yo, and considering that bending has a lot to do with physiques as well, it's more likely that prime time for their bending is at this age range too, and also in order to fight you also need agility, speed and good reaction. So yeah they are definitely not in their prime in tlok. We prob would get closest to their prime bending time at upcoming adult gaang movie.
If Zuko were at his prime, red lotus would've had harder time in getting P'li free. I mean they literally busted her out in less than an half-hour (considering time change from series)
And tbh Kuvira at that time could have defeated Toph but chose to not to, because she respects her and most importantly she knew that her whole army would have chosen to side with Toph rather than herself (sorta starts civil war). Because they respect legend Toph more than they fear her, just like in May/Zuko/Azula situation.
