Here is some reasoning behind it, I'd appreciate if you read:
School and High-school teachers are supposed to prepare you for the least, they are supposed to teach you things you need to know and memorise regardless of your future and without technology. College professors are supposed to teach you professional and technical topics you need for your careers.
Furthermore, College professors expect you to be responsible adults who actually check their notes, while high-schoolers might just ignore the lessons.
