Notice how God described David as having “obeyed all my commandments.” God forgives and answered Ps 51, creating a clean heart, renewing a right spirit, and counting him as righteous. This is evidence that grace exists in the Old Testament, because the Lord is always gracious.

Amen, I like how she states that if she has a problem with the passage it should be with the wicked hearts of men not with God's response to their wickedness.

My God shot is in 1 Kings 9:1-3 - We dedicate, as Solomon did, but only God can consecrate (sanctify) what we give Him!

When i read of GOD saying he will cast the temple out of HIS sight, it makes me so grateful for JESUS and the new covenant! Our bodies are the temple of the LORD and in John 6:37, Jesus promises us HE will never cast out those who are HIS! Praise HIM!! Thank you Father for your provision and your grace… 💜

Wow. It took a total of 20 years to complete the building of the Lord's temple and Solomon's house. 1 Kings 9: 1-9, God speaks to Solomon. I am so thankful that God hears our prayers. But, there is one important thing to note from God's response to Solomon in this passage. God requires obedience.

That was a great God shot from Tara-Leigh. God isn't surprised by our rebellion. But, despite ourselves, He has paved the way for us to return to Him. He's so gracious, merciful, and forgiving. He's where the joy is!

God told Solomon He heard his prayer, consecrated the temple, and that His eyes and heart would always be there. Wow, what a promise- His heart would be there- how tender and vulnerable.

I noticed that God provided men that "knew the sea", through Hiram, to serve in the fleet with Solomon (1 Kgs 9:27, 2 Ch 8:18). God provides what is needed.

I am glad to that God has rules and a right way for everyday life to be lived, I am broken and I need God's forgiveness, I am also glad that God is not surprised by my rebellion, I too wish I leaned more to the obedient side. I praise God for He's merciful and compassionate in all His ways, without those attributes of God, my life is meaningless 🌸

I love how God lays everything out as far as how He is going to move.

I picked up why Solomon placed his wife in a different palace - he was not to marry foreign women. We know how that went. God knew what Solomon would do and not do- be faithful to God. The temple was destroyed. Thank you God for sending Jesus to point us back and for dwelling within our hearts 💓

Whose kingdom am I building, God’s or mine? We know that God’s kingdom is built on what lasts: love, for “a thousand generations” (Ex 20:6); mercy—and the Ark itself is called “The Mercyseat”; forgiveness, as Solomon’s father expresses in Ps 51. We’ll see soon that Solomon’s greatest fear is oblivion that comes from the meaninglessness of impermanence. But what is built to last is “faith, hope, and love” (1 Cor 13:13)—not our 401K, nor our home that we’ll pass to our son. 1 Kings 9 is about God’s warning about empire-building: I may think that “my kingdom” is “impressive now” (1 Kings 9:8), but all that endures is His name, and His name is love (1 Jn 4:8).
