The Pamir Loop [Part 2]: a bikepacking trip in Tajikistan

Between 20 June and 2 July 2021, four friends (Yaroslava, Pasha, Quentin and Antoni) completed a 1000+ km gravel cycling route across the Pamir mountains in Tajikistan. The route follows more than 500km along the Afghan border, climbs to the Pamir plateau at 4000+ m, follows the Tajik-Chinese border, crosses two mountain passes at 4300 and 4650m and descends via a 350 km-long Bartang valley.
The Pamir Mountains are a mountain range between Central Asia, South Asia, and East Asia. Pamir is located at a junction with other notable mountain ranges: Tian Shan, Karakoram, Hindu Kush and the Himalaya.
