This is one of the best CPUs for the money right now, but...

The release of Intel's latest generation processors means that older, yet still very capable options have dropped in price. One example that really stands out is the i5 12600KF, a 10 core, 16 thread CPU that is ideal for content creators and gamers alike.

That said, it may not be necessary for everyone.

Thanks for watching :)

Newegg had these last weekend for $113, could get it under $100 with a zip promo.

I’ve got a 12600kf. Decent cpu for sure. I paid $140 around Black Friday last year. A z690 board for about 100 and 32gb ddr4 for 50 bucks or so. I grabbed one of the Thermalright coolers he mentioned and it’s a great cooler. About 330 plus a case and ssd. Not bad really.

Thank you this helps me out a lot. I have a i5 12400f and thought I overspent on the gpu when going with the rx 7800 xt. Thanks for showing how capable the i5 12400f is

Hey brother, before I comment, I just wanted to tell you that you and iceberg tech are my two favorite content creators.
Much love and respect from the other side of the pond! You guys make such great content!

I replied to another comment on this vid saying the same thing but anyway

ugh. I both love and hate this hobby so much.

I paid $225 for mine like 6 months ago -___- I just couldn't wait, I had been dying to play Zelda TOTK on yuzu at a decent frame rate, and my i3-12100f just couldn't give me above 40. I got it on sale at best buy for around $225.

EDIT: I got the non f variant as I like to use a quad monitor set up (I'm silly, I know) and I like to use my integrated GPU for my side monitors.

Would be a great upgrade for people who went with the 12100f budget build. Atleast from I'm from the AMD 5X00 cpus are around half the price more expensive with the 7X00 series being 2x-3x more expensive.

I have the same system. 12600 KF with 32 gigs of DDR5 RAM and 4070 Super.

had the K before switching to the 13600k, now my son daily drives the 12600k with a RTX3080 10gb, I have a RTX4080 paired with my 13600k, both amazing CPU's, for gaming, you don't need anything else on LGA1700 atm imo, GG great vid as usual :)

Igpu and quicksync helps the rendering times when exporting projects in premiere pro.

I just bought a 12600K for same price as you mentioned. Which I’ll also be pairing with a 4070 or 4070 s depending on how the market moves

Greetings from Bahrain!
During black friday last year, 12600k is cheaper than 12400F and 5600 in newegg (and also cheaper than this 12600KF) so I grab it to replace my i7 3770 system.
It's great and I really need the iGPU since I'm using it as encoder in OBS so there is no stress to my 3060 during gameplay recording.

In germany that CPU costs nearly 300 euro. Prices are crazy in germany. I personally mainly still use a i7 9700k and i5 9600k and currently think about upgrading to a 14700k, 14900k, ryzen 7 7800x3d or ryzen 9 7950x3d.

Friend’s using the 13400F which is basically this I believe. Was lucky enough to help him snag it when it suddenly went on a flash sale, making it cheaper than the 12600K. Strangely no longer the case though but we take those deals when we can.

Great video as both the 12400 and 12600 (all versions) are really good value CPU's especially for gaming and with the 12600 the additional e-cores do come in handly for the semi pro workloads like rendering etc....

I have to say, entry level and mid range in 12th gen have quite good performance compared to their value. Still on a 10700kf so far.

Bought one for $75 at microcenter. These chips are becoming the new budget king. Only a year ago i bought a 12100f for the same price.

I just bought this for $140 on Amazon (there was a instant coupon) and I paired it with an Radeon 6800 that I paid $320 for on Newegg with 32GB DDR4 3600 Ram for $55. I’m getting about 16000 score on 3D Passmark testing. Happy with my build, 1440p gaming is no issue and 1080p really smokes.

Cool video. Always interesting to see what else is out there. For now I will be sticking with AM4 for awhile and my Ryzen 5 1600 AF was free in a trade so can't beat the price.
