FOR those who don't get Q5.1
here is an explanation that I have worked out:
NaBr+H2SO4 -> NaHSO4 + HBr
NaBr+NaHSO4 -> Na2SO4 + HBr
simplifies to
Balanced: 2NaBr + H2SO4 -> Na2SO4 + 2HBr, now lets call this EQ1.
Now since bromide is a good reducing agent this equation (which we have all seen and is redox occurs):
2HBr + H2SO4 -> Br2 + SO2+ 2H2O, lets call this EQ2.
If we add EQ1 + EQ2, we get:
2NaBr + H2SO4 + 2HBr + H2SO4 -> Na2SO4 + 2HBr + Br2 + SO2+ 2H2O
which simplifies to:
2NaBr + 2H2SO4 -> Na2SO4 + Br2 + SO2+ 2H2O
as the sulfuric acids combine and the 2HBr cancel on both sides.

Eliot! on question 2.2, using high voltage describes electrospray ionisation, an electron isn't lost, but a proton is gained from a hydrogen ion.

I know I'm being pedantic, but at 43:00, since it also states ''pure sample'' I think another marking point would be to add Silver Nitrate WITH dil. HNO3 to prevent formation of any carbonates. Again, your answer had virtually every single marking point lol, just pointing one which could be in the mark scheme. Cheers for these videos!
