Honda Z50A First Ride in Over 30 Years #motorcyclerewind #hondaz50 #vintagemotorcycles

In this episode, I take on the challenge of resurrecting my friend's classic Honda Z50, a bike that hasn't seen the light of day in over 30 years! From clearing out the cobwebs to giving it a much-needed tune-up, I’ll walk you through the entire process of getting this little beast back on the road.

Watch as I dive into the engine, tackle some stubborn rust, and bring this vintage mini bike roaring back to life. And, of course, the moment we’ve all been waiting for—the first ride after three decades! Will it fire up and run like it did back in the day? Join me in the garage to find out!

I had a Honda Z50 back in the 70's. I remember begging my dad for one, this was during the early years of Happy Days, and The Fonz was my idol. We were in the Navy and sure enough when my Dad came back from one of his deployments he brought one back for me. I was on cloud 9 for the longest time, started my life long obsession with motorcycles, still riding today in my 50's. I'll never forget that little red Z50, had so much fun on it!

That’s a great yellow for the Z50. Also, that was a cool garage door reveal with the pink motorcycle after you fixed it.

I grew up in Baltimore, there was a dealer named Pete's Cycle that I passed every day going to school about the age of 7-8. To me, the X50 was a real motorcycle! I sure did leave a lot of snott on their showroom window dreaming to have one...by the time I had enough money, I was older and too big so I ended up picking up a Triumph 200cc Tiger Cub. Now at the young age of 64 I still have the Cub and a year after buying the cub I bought a beat up Z50, restored it, just to finally have one. Then one day I gave the Honda to my nephew inwhich he still has to this day, also..
Love those little Honda's and always will))
Edit: good job on getting that thing back together and running..good job!

Very nice restoration on the Yellow z50. It looks like new again! I’d like to find one to restore for my grandsons. 😊 Don Reed

Watching you checking fuel flow and petcock. Your filter was on backwards. The small end goes toward the fuel source and the little arrow shows which way the fuel flows.

Well that was fun😁 What’s the paint color name on the Z50 and your Ford?
