If you could give any 1 gymnast in history a redo, who would it be?

Sadly, any gold, silver, or bronze medal winner only really proves you were the best that day, or maybe at best that year. The next time you might fall or someone else beats your score.

The harsh reality of gymnastics from a coach is eating disorders, mental issues, and being forced to compete on injuries, even if they aren’t healed. Even the most shocking injuries are played off from concussions to broken backs. Sad harsh life of a gymnast.

That facial expression in the end is the universal expression of defeat

Don’t make her look like a failure. McKayla made a comeback and regained her world title. She had an impressive career. She’s still regarded as one of the greatest vaulters of all time. If anything, she just so happened to have ONE bad day.

She’s actually a gymnast and a team player. NOT a quitter. Never ever gave up. True American athlete!

How phenomenal do you have to be to win a silver medal with a fall?

That's still really good for a fall

People act like the career is that one moment but that’s a very toxic way to view it.

Unfortunate but happens a lot in sports. I spent one year training for WAF only to get outrolled by opponent to the pad within 2 seconds. If only i had secured my containment it would be different but 1 year hard work reduced to a few seconds. I'm training for European Cup and be back. That's athlete life.

Came across this video and, really??? Fo you know WHY that happened?
She had a manageable injury in her foot. Do you know anything about Larry Nassar ? He did the "treatment" in her, the night before the final in her room, the day of the final he was tapping her foot and she was visible upset looking towards the other side with the most sad face ever. That's the reality of what happened to this girl in her Olympics. Still she got up after this fall and complete a second vault as perfect that she got the silver medal, look that up and show Mckayla the respect she deserve because she truly is the champion of the history. And no I'm not even from the USA. But she's is a fighter. What she did as a young age is unbelievable, in the middle of the trauma she managed to somehow focus.
