It doesn't matter if Musk doesn't know how SS works. Every member of Congress does, so it's shameful how they let him go on like they don't understand our system.

I was a beneficiary of SBA. My father paid in for over ten years at a company called PamOil (doesn’t exist now). He died when I was 15 and my brother was 13, and we received $1, 031 per month to help with food, clothing, and housing. If we hadn’t received that money when he passed, my mom would’ve had to sell our house to make ends meet.

Down with these clueless fascists who believe money equals ANY form of intelligence.

The Social Security benefits paid to young children are critical. My husband and his three brothers lost their parents when they were very young. No one in their family had the ability to take on the four children; they were going to be sent to an orphanage. Their young aunt, age 28, took them and was able to raise them with the Society Security Benefits they received. She worked as a teller in a bank and didn’t make enough money to support them without their Social Security. All four boys attended college and now have good jobs and their own families. What a different life they would have had without these benefits.

My father died when I was 9 and I received benefits till I was 18 that helped me pay for college and other necessities, because my father paid into the system all the years he worked. But yeah, let’s take away all the things that help regular people because a psychotic narcissist billionaire says it’s a waste…
EDIT: My mother was the one who had access to these funds which she used for necessities, as well as saving a portion of it over the years which I was then able to access to pay for college, etc. when I turned 18. We did not receive a single payment after my 18th birthday. Unbelievable how dense some people can be that I actually had to explain this, but I should stop underestimating the level of willful ignorance that exists in our current timeline…

I've worked in IT for 25 years and he's right if your going to audit a government agency you use accountants and probably lawyers too, not programmers!

I benefited from Social Security Survivors Benefits. My mother died when I was 3 months old. She was a school teacher, and my father never remarried, this kept us out of poverty. I’m now 45, and I appreciated everything that service did for me and my family!

Nothing but lies not one person has lost there benefits unless they were committing fraud.

My partner passed away from COVID and me and our son would be homeless if we didn't get survivor benefits. It's not a waste! We need this program!

The social security death benefits my sons received after their father passed from an unexpected car accident was a life changer. It made a huge difference for my grieving family and it honestly helped us survive.

Imagine living an entire life of wealth and privilege, where you don’t even stop to consider WHY a child might be getting these benefits.

My Dad passed when I had just turned 12. My mom went to work to support us. She used my SSA survivor's benefits to cover the cost of my long-term post-rheumatic fever care and eventually my nursing school. My life would have been so different, and possibly not long, without those benefits my Dad paid for. 🤬🤬🤬

The executive office arbitrarily dipping their fingers in the United States Treasury should be illegal.

This guy is wrong. The Small Business Administration gave loans out it shouldn’t.

Survivor Benefits does not fall under the SBA, it falls under the SSA.

I'm 55. My daddy died when I was a little girl. In my senior year of high school, I received $844 a month, I didn't own a car, I walk to school, exactly 2 miles, I didn't have a job, because I was trying to finish 12th grade and graduate, had no parents to take care of me. But by god, I had a roof over my head and food on my table.

All this stuff about “missing” money from billionaires often turns out to be bs. You wanna find some missing money? How about the billionaires pay their taxes? That’s where a lot of money has surely gone “missing”.

Yeah, I read some comments from our fellow Americans and their disgusting. Telling us were overreacting and fear mongering. Completely lacking empathy for their fellow humans because they have not had their checks abruptly halted or even just the threat. This is causing havoc and people don't care.
