In this module you will learn all about the key topics that are covered in this course:
Module 07: Data Center Cooling Best Practices Part 1
• Calculating cooling requirements
• High density cooling problem
Course Description
If you or your team is involved in data center technology, whether it is in a sales, support or operations capacity, it is important to have a good understanding of the overall data center and the issues facing data center managers on a daily basis. The Data Center Cooling course series is a great way to quickly learn the ins and outs of cooling in the data center. It is geared for everyone from the data center novice to the most experienced IT and facilities technicians and managers. The Data Center Cooling course covers an overview of cooling in the data center, including an introduction to the refrigeration cycle, calculating cooling requirements in the data center, an overview of the cooling equipment in the data center, the importance of air distribution, and the impact of your cooling design on overall data center energy efficiency.
There are three other courses in this series:
• Fundamentals of Infrastructure Management – Covers an overview of data centers, physical security, availability and preventive maintenance, and data center floor planning
• Fundamentals of Data Center Power Management – Covers data center power and energy efficiency
• Fundamentals of Data Center Operations – Covers data center management, including data center management tools, ITIL, and IT
Service Management
In This Course You Will Learn:
• Describe the cooling infrastructure in the data center
• Understand the refrigeration cycle and how cooling is implemented in the data center
• Calculate the total cooling required in the data center
• Understand the impact of humidity on data center cooling
• Understand the importance of air distribution and its impact on cooling
• Develop a plan for improving cooling efficiency in the data center
Prerequisites
While there are no prerequisites for this course, it is important to have a good understanding of the overall data center and the issues facing data center managers on a daily basis. It is recommended that you be involved in data center technology, whether it is in a sales, support or operations capacity.
It is recommended that you first take the Fundamentals of Infrastructure Management course
