Thanks for putting this out. Nice to get a perspective as to where all the power goes and adjustment factors to give you a reasonable number for power usage giving you the total picture.

Thanks a lot for doing a prctixal example.
My question is Where did the 1.55 come from? Is the NEC and if it is which article?

Hi! very interesting topic for which I have a few questions: in a typical DC, in each rack are 2 PDUs for redundancy purposes. My question is: when both PDUs are connected but only one is active (in the sense that it provides active power) how the power consumption is calculated for that rack? Is it that one PDU is supplying max power capacity and the other is idle? If idle, will still consume some power; how much that would be?

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. could you please guide me about which organization certification would be better in data center Operation & maintenance.

Thank you for the video,
I have a question about the power rating of UPS, for example when we say a UPS of 250kVA is it the power that will be delivered at the output of the UPS or it is the input power that will be consumed at the input of that UPS?

Thx, i learnt the ratio already. But i wonder the consumption will it be different for tier3 or 4DC,

Could you explain the capacity of substation, power transformers needed to meet the design load of the data centre? I know its a lot to ask, it would be very helpful, though.

normal Colocation run at about 10kW so 1.5 is a bit low. 150 Racks is a lot of space, which could be down sized to 23 racks and 27 racks if all server and storage gets packed together.

most of this load can even be run in the cloud where somebody else hosts the server and we just need to worry about rightsizing our Instances to handle the load. No more datacenter building needed on our site.

Hey, Cooling Efficiency is most of the time 2-3X (EER) so why need that much power for Chiller or Precision AC ? if server racks power is 255KW heat load would be also around 255KW so need an air cons that will support 255KW+ cooling capacity and power consumption will be almost 1/3.

Explain. Sizing of transformer for this example.... Because IT load is single phases and other are three phases... If you explain also this then it would be very useful

Why did when we want to calculate for PUE, the value for IT load will be taken from UPS load? why dont from the PDU? can you explain?

Very good video. Can you please share the reference used for inefficiency factor of UPS & Battery? Are the numbers standard or depend on manufacturers data? Thanks in advance.
