LPs (Long-playing) records were made to be played on 33 rpm (revolutions per minute). Some older records were played on 33, and 45s were smaller, with only one song on each side. So, the speed varied with the type of record, not from song to song. I showed this video to my grandson. It was funny to see how foreign this is to young people now!

Its amazing how alien this is even for this young men. I'm 50, and the first thing I noticed is that they started the record manually. They didn't used the arm and the whole auto system. And at the end they were baffled by the arm, not knowing what was it for...., 😂

The spindle is to stack 4 records, one one on top of the other and turn on the reject function. and the player plays the records one at a time.
