Russell Westbrook Is Now Averaging a Triple-Double

Russell Westbrook’s 2016-2017 season is already on a record breaking path given that the Thunder point guard became the first player since Oscar Robertson to average a triple-double more than 10 games into a season. Magic Johnson achieved the feat after the first eight games of the 1981-1982 season, but 19 games into this year and Westbrook has reached that mark. What about Anthony Davis? He averages 32.1 PPG, 11.2 RPG, 2.8 BPG, 2.2 APG, 1.8 SPG, while shooting 51.9% from the field and 81.6% from free throw line. He is domination on both ends and he has much weaker theam than Russ. I love Russ, I know AD has almost no chance to win the MVP award, but I think he is the best player in the league in this season so far.

Jason with all due respect I don't believe Kobe won the 2010 MVP if that's what you meant over rose. Derrick in those years was unbelievably valuable to the bulls. He gave them 2 or 3 60+ win seasons and he did what needed to be done to win. If he would have never gotten injured he would have been the best point guard in history imo.

Come on Jason, you know this as well as a lot of people watching this video. Rebounding has become a skewed stat because not everyone goes for the rebound like 30 years ago. Everyone would chase there shot and go for the rebound back than. The amount of people nowadays that go for the rebound is way lesser than it has ever been. Russell is also one of the most athletic players in the league so I'm not surprised that he is averaging a triple double right now. Let me know what you think. And mind you I am taking nothing away from Russell because he is one of the best players in the league and best PG in the league
