If your mouse is wireless, try take out the battery and the receiver. Then, you plug in back the receiver first, after that you put in the battery inside your mouse. Works for me

Get a new mouse separate from the keyboard thumb drive. I don't know the science behind it, but I theorized that this is not a system problem, but rather a hardware problem as it seems like the mouse and keyboard tied to the same thumb drive is conflicting with each other. I disabled my mouse that is tied with the keyboard receiver/thumb drive and used a separate mouse and I hadn't had that dreaded dead clicking problem for over a month since I did this. None of these methods from video to video works, or rather a temporary fix where the problem will reoccur without fail.
