The Problem With Audiojungle...

Sometimes people reach out to ask me if I think it's worthwhile uploading music to Audiojungle these days. It's still a big player in the royalty free music space, but there's been some drama within the community there with respect to Envato's big push to Elements. I have a lot of thoughts to chew on here, but mostly I think all these changes happening in the music licensing industry are good reason to think 'big picture' about your music, so here's a few thoughts for you to consider..

One of the most valuable videos I have seen on YouTube. Thanks for keeping it real and optimistic at the same time.

Well said! I certainly agree. I look at AJ as just one of many options. I am constantly researching and utilizing other possibilities for my music. Rejections from AJ have become normal and basically builds my attitude, to just upload and keep moving. I see many selling their tracks at low prices (but that's another conversation itself). The business of music is also a business of ebbs and flows, so composers will always have to adapt and flow as well. Like you said, there are so many options to explore with one's music.

I’m genuinely considering not uploading to AJ anymore. I too joined late as an author (after the launch of elements) and I have struggled from the start to pick up any traction. I’ve put too much time in over the years for very little return. It’s a shame because it was through using AJ as a videographer that I started making my own music but it’s taking too much time up for almost no return. I would love to join elements but they have not offered me that chance as of yet. So I’m pretty fed up with the entire platform tbh.

Exactly! 👍 Not putting all the eggs in the same basket – or rather: putting all the eggs in several baskets – is the key in a fluctuating market. 🍀

I agree with you Steve. Diversification is the name of the game. There’s no point in getting upset about AJ.

That six minutes put together in one phrase “AudioJungle is BAD”. Period! I’m not being negative, just brutally honest! :) Been with them since 2015 and now it’s almost completely dead, a corporation B takes care about nature and health of the planet but fails to maintain healthy and fruitful relationships and mutual understanding with people that built it. That’s just how it is in the modern world.
