The Witcher - The Song of the White Wolf
Показать описание
I personally think this song is the GOAT from The Witcher soundtrack. It was such a wonderful surprise over the end credits of the final episode of Season 1 - ethereal and magical, yet raw and emotional. The Celtic influence perfectly sets that tone, and Declan De Barra's voice really drove it home.
I decided to do an abridged version mainly focusing on the vocals (as much as I love the instrumental bridge, I don't have the resources to recreate that in a way that does it justice).
Sonya Belousova's use of almost banshee-like, primal female vocals throughout the score for the Witcher is inspired and one of my favorite elements. Naturally, the high harmony sliding up the note on "kiss you with his sword" gave me chills. I LOVE that part and wanted to give it just a touch of delay/fx to give it a hint of a supernatural sound.
I purposely kept the instrumental very atmospheric and simple, using differently effected pads with a lot of reverb and slight phasing.
Lastly, I intentionally kept the 3-part harmony over the final line (despite the last word being "alone") as a nod to Ciri and Yennefer now being tied to Geralt, making him no longer as alone as he first thought.
Hope you enjoy! (And go support the original artists!)
