This video is called "myth busting" but, for the most part, you guys end up agreeing with the "myths." That's not exactly myth busting, is it.

Windows benefits:
1: Best for gaming
2: Lower cost for same hardware
3: More customisable

Mac benefits:
1: More exclusive and optimized creative software (final cut, logic pro)
2: Apple products tend to only have the best components (retina, NVME, 10hr battery)
3: Holds value better
4: More stable operating system

I use a MacBook Air for everyday use and uni work, but I also own a PC I built primarily for gaming. They each have their uses, I find MacOS to be significantly more reliable than Windows and will pay a premium for such devices.

i have owned a PC for close to 14 years (1998) but i have to say when people talk about the price of macs, Apple does not force you to pay for the laptop, if you dont want it, dont get it. It's that simple really.

Whoever still believes that macs have higher end hardware has been sleeping under a rock for the last 5 years. The MacPro hardware is outdated and the iMac is a really awfull combination of components (very high resolution screen paired with low end GPU and CPU with overheating issues due to poorly designed thermal management). Compare a MacPro to an equally priced Windows workstation and the Mac will be easily 2-3 times slower, if you are doing 3D graphics even more due to the very, very poor GPU drivers Apple ships and the mediocre GPUs. Build a windows machine yourself ignoring the workstation hardware and you get a machine that is twice as fast for half the price.

The problem isn't the PC, it's the software itself. Adobe is shit honestly.

Also, macs do have a longer lifespan and they retain their value a lot more. Oh and a 7 year old macbook is still compatible with latest OS and software and runs pretty good.

I have been using my PC for 1½ years now, it was cheaper than a Mac, it performs better than a Mac and it only has crashed two times. Both times were on the same day while playing GTA 5 Online. My PC never crashed again, I think it was some kind of modder in the GTA Online lobby. Every time I used macOS, i was confused. I just like the structure of Windows more.

Fair comparisons, but: if your Dell laptop BSODs, you have a driver or hardware problem -- and that should not be "solved" by buying a Mac and calling it "more reliable" than the Dell. Windows 10 really does not crash ever unless you mess around with the hardware or drivers, or a certain program is corrupting a system service (Premiere might have had troubles with the video driver).

Mac: you can use MacOS AND Windows 10
Windows: You can use Windows 10 or Hackintosh, but Hackintosh is way harder to do than Boot Camp
If you want the best of both worlds, get a MacBook Pro and use Boot Camp to get Windows 10 on it as well.

I think what many people fail to see is the user experience. If you see the device as more than just the sum of what it can do, you will apprciate apple products more. When I was younger, I could not fathom why anyone would spend such amounts of money on a mac when you could be a much higher spec'd windows laptop for half the price, so I bought two Acers, which at the time, were better on paper than the comparable mac books. First one was in 2010 and since then i've thrown it away because it became unusable in 2013, and this year i scrapped my other one as well for the same reasons. Then i bought a mac book pro because I can finally afford such a thing and I haven't regretted once. It really is a premium product and I bought it for the physical experience of using it as well as the reliability and quality that I haven't seen in any windows machine. The only exceptions would be the surface book or surface pro but pound for pound, in my country they are priced higher than a macbook.

Higher end computers? Superficial catch phrases do not do Apple any justice. Moreover, vague opinions based on flawed human perception does not have any merit either. It's also not about style for me. MacOS / Mac OS X is an operating system based on BSD/Unix technologies that are very useful for (non-windows/ASP.NET) web developers who like to work with Apache Web Server and/or NGinx or NodeJS. The Terminal is based on bash and you have the added power of python and/or applescript (if that's your thing). I'd probably would rather use Antergos/Ubuntu/Kali if Adobe released their creative suite for linux because Macs tend to be more expensive for lesser specs.

There are many applications for creative professionals only for Mac and vice-versa. The real choice you need to make is based on what applications you like to use and which platform they are available for. For instance, Final Cut Pro, Logic, Sketch, Hype etc. are Mac only. On the other hand, many 3D programs either originated on Windows or are optimized for that platform (like AutoCAD, MoI or Z-brush - there's are Mac versions but they are often treated as an afterthought).

However, the good thing about the hardware specs on Macs is that you know everything is likely going to be ran through a more vigorous QA process and usually the optimum hardware is assembled or sourced. For me it's more about the software I can create and the software I'm able to use on a platform that determines its usefulness. Windows also doesn't have powerhouse productivity tools as good as Alfred or Keyboard Maestro.

I'm not a fan of how Microsoft tries to change the paradigms with every release of their OS by making everything completely different. They have a horrible track record of releasing half-assed versions of Windows every other time (Windows ME, Windows Vista, Windows 8...).

The greatest thing about getting a Mac is that you know what you're buying and you know what software it will have pre-installed. You don't ever get add-on software from Dell, HP or Sony etc. that those respective companies are trying to use to shoehorn you into their ecosystem of products and services. It's usually bloated spamware that is designed to spy on your activities so the information can be sold to third parties. If I ever had to go back to Windows, I would purchase a separate install of the OS just to format the hard drive with a fresh install of Windows despite the fact that it would cost an extra $100-200.

If your laptop is crashing just from trying to load some video clips something is wrong with your laptop, just saying.
I have a cheapo $300 inspiron with a crummy 2.2 ghz processor (overclocked from 1.8) and i can actively use video editing software without any issues.

I absolutely cannot believe that this video has a 10 to 1 TU to TD ratio. Not that it's not good...I think it's awesome...just trying to debate Mac vs PC is bound to annoy at least one segment of the audience....especially PC users,

Personally, it doesn't matter. These OS's are both great. All comes down to personal uses dependant on the use case
