Hitler's scientists actually created the first fighter jets, some say that it could've turned the tide of the war in the Axis favor. The technology was taken and used by the West and the Soviets following the Allies' victory to develop their fighter jets during the Cold War.

As some cyborg guy once said: German science is the best in the world!

When you've got a massive budget, no human rights worries and a dictator who loves big loud weapons, of course yours gonna lead the way with military ingenuity

I'm surprised jet fighters and general purpose machine guns didn't make the list. The M60 is a dead ringer for the MG-42, but with a vastly slower rate of fire

Best soundtrack of any Infographics episodes, can't remember the others that used it. The other soundtrack coming close was "The battle of the Bulge" 👍

i understand simplifying things to make them easier to be picked up, but you definitely played it fast and loose with the facts on this one fellas

You forgot the MG-42 light machine gun becoming the M-60.

The AK only looks like the stg. Mechanically it is pretty much just am upside down garand. And the tiger was really unreliable, and parts to fix it HAD to be taken from other tigers.

The AK-47 was not modeled after the stg44
In fact there action and cycling are no where near identical. The AK was more like the m1 Garand then anything else. There is a lot of studies about it. The AK and STG just simply look alike. But great video I love watching your history videos.

One slight correction: the AK47 was actually based on the M1 Garand

"Well it's not technically still in use today" - Wrong, it's still in use in Libya. The Gaddafi regime bought a few containers full of them from Yugoslavia (who in turn got them from East Germany) when they retired them in the 1980s, they were brought into service during the civil war and are still used in the current civil war albeit sourcing WW2 era ammunition has become an issue.

I've always wondered why some Americans who claim to be patriotic wave the flags and symbols of the enemies they've defeated.

It’s crazy how close they were to possibly dominating the world at one point, luckly for the world that was put to an end.

Good thing all these inventions and innovations were preserved and even improved to what concerned countries and parties enjoy today
