　　Ryan's recurring character “is a playboy and a successful doctor. But always running away from his responsibilities,” says producer Matt Olmstead. “Once the situation gets complicated, he disappears. The show, on the other hand, is at the point where he has to start working seriously to find a real life in Chicago.”
　　The two Holstead brothers are finally reunited and “they're both happy to see each other,” Olmstead said. “Ryan didn't come to Chicago this time to join Jay, but to get Jay's help with something.”
