Most "ayurvedic" products in India are not tested and not used for medicine.
And what Dr. Mike is saying is very true, you get a bunch of gurus that sell tons of product and become millionaires. They are like the télé evangelicals of India/hinduhism.

This is how you have a conversation. He asked, he listened, he responded. Love it

The most passive aggressive conversation doctor mike ever had probably

I love how you two professionals sat there and through an awkward moment, there was respect, calmness, courtesy…..and conversation to hopefully lead to an answer or truth and YOU BOTH ACTED LIKE NOT ONLY PROFESSIONALS, but there was respect and understanding through the “misunderstanding”. Run for office. Both of you. Please.

I was told by a follower of this practice (an old work manager) that my stomach issues that came on at work where related to my diet, too much hot food or something, he made me do an online quiz that gave me a diet plan that he said was going to fix me. Anyway it was appendicitis.

I love listening to these podcasts because everyone seems to take a moment to think before they respond. That pause is so important and it feels rare nowadays.

Dude I’m loving your podcast because you make awkward and triggering conversations peaceful and that’s what most people need to develop: Confrontation with no hard feelings. I’m learning not just from the information but aslo on how you deliver them.

As an Indian doctor, I 200% agree with Dr. Mike.

You know what we call evidence-based alternative medicine? "Medicine"

As an Indian, I agree. I respect ayurveda and its approach to prevention. But not treatment. In fact ayurvedic treatments have sometimes worsened patients health

Dr.Mike always makes a good point! Too many people taking advantage of people who are desperate for answers about their health.

I admire how patient, clear, collected and concise dr. K is in his conversation, especially considering his adhd.

FOR PEOPLE WHO DIDN'T WATCH WHOLE PODCAST:
why Dr. K asked that question watch the whole podcast because there was a confusion between them. While Dr. Mike was focusing on the Ayurveda practitioners and practices of today or recent past which lack scientific backing while Dr. K was focusing on the principles of Ayurveda system and beliefs and foundation it was built on.

It's not at all awkward though, it's a very healthy discussion between two proper adults who have zero interest in a screaming match or storming out of the room. They want the discussion rather than the "win".

My brother's friend is a certified ayurvedic doc, and what i learned from him is that ayurveda helps a person in embracing healthy life style rather than treating any illness which can be effectively done by conventional medicines. So many people have a wrong belief that ayurveda can treat illness like jaundice or cancer, which is absolutely wrong. To some extent, I do agree with Dr. Mike that many times, someone just advertises the ayurvedic products without strong evidence and misguide the patients.

As an Indian and practicing medical professional, agree with him 100 percentage about what he said. Ayurveda needs more scientific research to consolidate it better in health care. No testing no liscne, anyone is making medicines in the name of Ayurveda.

This was an amazing conversation between two honest and brave communicators. I loved every second! Watch the whole convo to see what effective communication looks like.

Dr. Mike has come so far from where he started, and still manages to stay grounded and committed to his principles as a practicing physician. Dude is super impressive for that

This is a high class conversation. Different views, but you still respect each other

Most of the time, Ayurveda seems to focus more on preventing diseases and infections rather than treating them. These preventive measures are often based on natural accuracy, while treatments are pursued after an infection has occurred.
