This week Jeremy shows you the best knot for tying 100lb 150lb 200lb Fluorocarbon or mono. Big fluorocarbon is not an easy line to tie knots but this knot is easy to learn and strong as the line itseft

I've been researching fishing line because it works really great in a Bowden Tubes/Pulleys for cheap power transmission. All you fisherman have been crazy helpful!

Got 1 worth adding to your list of strong knots with 100% strength. Its called the jansek special (very close to springer knot) ez instruction - feed tag through eye twice forming 2 sm loops alongside line above hk. Pass tag through 2 loops you formed & around the line above the hk 3 times. Draw tight after wetting. You did it properly if tag exits knot at a 90 degree angle once tight & knot looks like a small fist around eye. Has NEVER failed on me. Not once.

It is weird. I was struggling with this knot and finally got it to work by bringing the tag up thru the loops at the end rather than down like what it seems to be showing.

the last loop seems not to be on the same side than the others, isn't it?

That's a great variation on arbor knot, maybe you should call it arbor3..ha..

Is this the same knot you’d use to make leaders?

You are doing it wrong, 3 turns should go in the same direction then you put the tangent through the first loop near the hook, and then through those 3 loops. It is much stronger, I have been using that knot for 25 + years.

Looks like a arbor knot, with three loops instead of one..

1) I don’t know why but I simply cannot replicate what you’re doing. Something funky with the wrapping that isn’t translating well in the video. 2) would love to see you do this demo with 300lb mono.

The only problem with those knots is you still only have one loop in the actual eye of the hook and a mass at the back. It's only as strong as the single loop. I double my line by pinching it together than pushing it through the eye. Pull it back over top of until the pole line splits it in half. Run the tail through one half of the loop and back up through the other half. Twist it a few times on the main line and make a simple slip knot to secure it. Not gets tighter as it's pulled and has two lines through the main eye.
