Windows 11: Change Taskbar size – make it smaller or larger (2024)

preview_player
Показать описание
This video shows four different methods to change the size of the Taskbar using third-party tools like ExplorerPatcher, WindHawk, and Start11 since the Registry method no longer works. I'm also showing a method that doesn't require other applications or changes to the Registry.

Table of contents:
00:00 Intro & warning
00:37 Resize Taskbar with ExplorerPatcher
02:59 Resize Taskbar with WindHawk
05:35 Resize Taskbar with Start11
09:56 Resize Taskbar with Scale feature
11:05 Closing

🚨 Warning: You will install third-party apps and make Windows changes. Therefore, ensure you have a full system backup before making any changes. Proceed with caution and understanding.

Aaah yes… all this effort for what should be a BASIC customisation feature.

Still waiting for the day when Windows adds this natively

explorer patcher is far the best option since is free and open source
windhawk is another good option

Really sucks that you have to rely on Third-Party Software for functionality that should've been there already, and was in Windows 10.

I mean, even MacOS allows us to Customize or repositition the Dock.

Only if Microsoft could get their heads out of their a*ses, and instead of shoving down our throats useless, bullshit and gimmicky AI Features [just even hearing AI makes me nauseated], and actually work on delivering stuff that actually matters.

Like Small Taskbar, getting rid of those shit Context Menus [Right-Click Menus], etc.

the first one is trash explorer patcher whatever that is, the option to change size was removed and i had to use windows 10 taskbar which is terrible, win 11 taskbar lacked the height options

Windhawk worked great so thats the best option, didnt try the paid software trial

update: actually windhawk has to run with windows for it to work so that is useless as well

start11 seems to be better, tried worked but when i tried to move windows in taskbar animation dissapeared and there was this line, so it disables animations and uses this line thingy

👉Since you will be making changes changes to Windows, it's best to create a backup before proceeding. You have been warned.

it is a shame they got rid of the option to make the Taskbar smaller... or just to customize it a bit

Would changing taskbar width in windhawk allow the icons to be closer together, like in windows 10?

Why are Windows 11 more lousy when it comes to taskbar and startbar customization ? I do not like this way of limiting user interface to a fixed set of supported settings instead of the rich customiations we have seen earlier in Windows versions.

This video is a waste of time! The teacher didn't show the end result! This is a video, Sir, and you need to clearly show us what was in the beginning, and what you have achieved with your instructions. In Windows 10, it was possible to make the taskbar in two or three rows with the mouse. In Windows 11, there is no such option. Here's what I need: to make the taskbar in two rows, and not just make it 5 millimeters higher.
