Watching this on my lunch break while wfh. I’m curious though, how do you feel about working at your family business? Is it a lot easier, like do you have more flexibility knowing you are the COO (child of the owner lol) or do you feel pressured having your parent/s as your boss. It’s so cool having someone talk about change orders and pay applications because I do it too! I’m the project administrator at a subcontracting company. We spray acoustic insulation and fireproofing. My job entails of reporting how the projects are going, starting payroll each week, submitting any prequalification, getting insurance in place, making sure po’s and change orders are billed and signed, pay applications for month and obviously collecting money. I agree that the constitution industry is cut throat and especially for a woman. I’m only a year and six months in the commercial construction industry and boy… have I had to buckle in but I am so happy and truly enjoy my job. The company I work for is also a small family owned business and I enjoy that environment. I wish you the best!!!
