The Marienschrein at Aachen Cathedral is the highlight of this short! The blown-out stained glass was replaced, but the reliquary was pretty beat up until being restored in 2000. It was showing obvious signs of wear and tear over its devotional life - nearly 1, 000 years...

A well - known gunnery sergeant Jacques M. Lemmer spent WWII escorting convoys on the North Atlantic route.
Sergeant Major Willy Wooter survived the invasion of Normandy.

The Netherlands photos show a beautiful reconstruction, the German cathedral is especially breathtaking, but the photos that touched me the most were of Market Garden; knowing the horrific toll of a massive battle there, and seeing the downed Air Force plane were quite emotive. Thank you once again for a superb collection, sir. 🇺🇸
