I was lucky enough to film and witness mystichrome get painted on a damaged Terminator Cobra. It was $3, 335 for just 16 oz of paint. WILD.

Also fun fact it uses the same toners used for the dollar bills so the treasury department had to watch Ford like a Hawk.

Moon dust is incredibly abrasive, so good luck to the guy wanting to put that in his paint.

Donut ads are the only ones I feel enticed to watch!. As a painter I’m hyped to watch this.

The reason why exposed carbon fiber on Hyper cars is SO damn expensive is because EVERY SINGLE body panel has to match the carbon fiber wave and pattern, it's a VERY hard thing to do, with paint you don't have to worry about any kind of imperfections, but if there is a little thing wrong with exposed carbon fiber, you have to make the whole panel again.

I’d love if more companies offered colors like those that were available in the 1950-1970’s, those super bright primary colors

I would thoroughly love to see you guys paint the civic you're pumping money into. That would be a great episode. Bonus points if you let viewers pick the color!

Not sure if it counts as a paintjob, but the CCXR Trevita was also insanely expensive, and only two were ever made. The while carbon fiber was very difficult to make, and were an innovation at the time. One sold for close to 5 million dollars, while a normal CCXR costs about a million US. Great video as always, guys.

the fact that they still do the reload sound on nolan’s glasses for this long is amazing

Legit, you guys have the best add segments on YouTube. I may hate all adds but you make them funny lol. Love any content you guys put out.

There's no way the diamonds weighed a total of 2.5k. It'd basically be dust already. My guess is they used 1000 diamonds between .2-1k. That would put the paint in the $1-2 million range. Although, saying it takes 1000 diamonds could also mean they purchased the dust like Nolan said, significantly reducing the price. Alternatively, they could be lab-grown diamonds. Which would offer the same quality at a 30-50% discount. My guess is the diamonds alone cost $500, 000-$1, 000, 000

My brother painted the cars in the Autopia Disneyland ride years ago, and saved enough of the custom green-base ChromaLusion paint to paint his Jeep Cherokee. It was $4000/gallon at the time, and I believe he had separate insurance coverage on the paint.

Yeah that naked carbon is hard to get right cause they have to sand it down the exact same over the whole car and if they mess up in one little spot the whole panel is ruined so its a HELL OF A JOB TO HAVE !
