How To Create Macrium Reflect Bootable Rescue CD/USB

Creating rescue media is very important if you wish to backup your data from a computer that is not booting up. The rescue CD or USB will let you recover the files you want.

So whether your suffering from a corrupt windows operating system, failed windows update that is stopping windows from starting up or a rogue driver on the system. You can still backup all your files using Macrium Reflect Bootable Rescue CD/USB

I'm exploring this software right now to purchase. I want to image our 2012 r2 server for disaster recovery. I copy the actual data files to 3 locations on the network, and 1 off, so I'm not too worried about loosing that stuff.

We've spent a lot of money in the past 2 years for applications that are installed on the server, and if it was to crash/puke/die, or what ever, those apps would have to be re-installed by the integrator's. I've ordered some new drives to test with next week.

The plan is to image the server, then remove production drives. Install "new" test drives. Same size, speeds, etc.. Then install 2012 r2 on the new drives. Install Macrium, and then restore from the image taken prior. Then see how she comes up.

I hear a lot of good things about the software. I'm testing it now in a VM just to get the feel of things.

That software is very good Mr. B. Thanks. I used it to clone one time at work and it went well. I never used it for backing up, but thank you for pointing that out. I had no Idea it gave me these options. Great Video.Thumbs up...

Good vid. When i had a no boot error, my recovery usb didnt work. Because i forgot to (set it up). Learned lesson. Will go with macrium

How does it work at the end, ie "booting from USB or CD, then create a backup of the data and copy this to an external drive" ? I don't understand how this is supposed to work...

My main drive (C) and my back up drive are in the same computer. If drive c becomes infected will it affect my back up drive?

Brian thank you! dumb question, with the reflect rescue CD, since it grabs all my drivers will it let me rebuild windows 10 from scratch if everything goes haywire or do I need the windows ISO to rebuild it? thanks!
