Historicon 2024 is officially in the history books! If you missed the biggest historical wargaming show in the USA, the Little Wars TV crew is here to bring you some highlights. The games we're sharing in today's recap are just a small sample of the 650+ events run over the four-day weekend in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Historicon is organized by HMGS and the volunteers who generously give their time to help put on a great event. We saw exceptional miniature games spanning all eras of military history, sci-fi, fantasy, adventure, RPGs, and board games.

If you want to see all that Historicon has to offer, the only way to do that is to come! The convention returns to this fantastic venue in downtown Lancaster next summer, so mark your calendar and join us in July 2025!

My Dad is Kris, who did the Red Oktober Factory! He spent 9 whole months on that board, and I cant be more proud of the guy. Glad he got featured in this video!

Thank you so much for being our eyes and ears. You might not know the depth of gratitude we in your community appreciate giving us a chance to visit the show through your filming. I could not attend this year and you made me feel like I did. A special thanks to you all. 🤗

Had the pleasure to attend HistoriCon in 1998, 2002, 2004, and 2006; headed west to NashCon in 2000. Was ALWAYS blown away by by the creativity and skills of the game masters ... in addition to their investment of time, $$$, and camaraderie; never was I made to feel "backwards" by any vendor, fellow gamer, or game host. A wonderful gathering of knowledgeable and fun people every single time. Oh, wait a tick ... I do remember an all-night ACW game on 4 tables that got a bit out of hand once the kiddies went to bed and the players cracked open the "hard stuff" and tempers did flare; HMGS organizers handled the dust-up quietly yet firmly; problems disappeared quick the rest of the weekend.

I adore these videos and seeing Historic wargame conventions like this where there is dozens and dozens of different kinds of games and scales but with that unifying energy of everyone being there for the same thing. It's nice to see people come together to enjoy a hobby even if everyone expresses their interest in the hobby differently.

Hey!! Thanks for the shout-out for my Ogre games! Had a blast running them - I'm going to be doing more at other cons. Had a great time at Historicon as always. Definitely a must-attend show.

Thanks for the video from a viewer who was there for your very first episodes. I also belong to the American Battlefield Trust-ABT who you partnered with at Brandywine. I very kindly asked them to focus on more than Gettysburg and the ACW and introduce AWI and War if 1812 content. For LWTV it would be great to see, in addition to battle reports, more on the “hobby” side of the hobby. Miniatures, comparisons, painting tips, building scenery, and all the off camera activity the club members do before the game. I think this would be greatly beneficial to new gamers and perhaps attract the next generation of gamers you often discuss the need for. ABT took on preserving AWI and War of 1812 battle sites because literally no one else would do it. I now ask LWTV to delve into the other aspects of historical war gaming (beyond game play) because literally no one else is doing it. Are you up for the challenge? I am confident you are our best hope. Thanks as always.

Looks terrific and a great video. My wife and I were chatting about Historicon this weekend, rather I was saying I had FOMO about missing it. She asked where in the US it was, so may be persuaded to take a trip next year... Who knows...

STALINGRAD - Battle for the Factories - Largest Battle-game every in my basement on ping-pong sized table - 19 players - had 3 hand-made two-story RUBBLED & Bombed-out gray factory buildings down the length of the table then single-story houses/buildings down both edges with tanks and infantry fighting through-out to capture the MAJORITY TO WIN !! I saw the STALINGRAD Battle displayed there at Historicon (his was more detailed - BRAVO to him) !! I ;ve gotten to GEN-CON once in my life and I get older every year BUT at least we can watch your review videos !!

Glad u guys are back! I feel like the army doesn’t want me to be able to come to historicon. I make it to fallin and cold wars and have since 2021 but I’ve had drill twice, an annual training and now a deployment keeping me from historicon! PA guard killing me! Thankfully I’ll get home with 3-4 days to spare right before fallin this year! Fingers crossed and hope to see you boys there!
