Sear two minutes a side, but no mention at all how long you had it in the oven.

What the heck was that smash cut from searing the first side to pulling the pan out of the oven after some unknown amount of time?

Having your meat come to room temperature is something that a lot of people miss when cooking steaks

Nice looking Tbone Mike! Gotta love that sear that cast iron gives to the steak! I’m not sure how you did a 9minute steak in a less than 5min video, some sort of time wizardry right there! 😂 Hope y’all have a great weekend!

you didn't say how long to keep in oven.

Things to consider with at T-bone:

That big bone acts like a heat sink, so when you pan cook one, remember that the center area near the bone will be the least cooked. Only ways to aid a good sear are dry it in the fridge for a little bit, or wrap it in decent strength paper towel when you take it out of the packaging. And let it sit, in the fridge for a few hours or so and then replace it with another. After that the surface should be dry enough to wear really well with any seasoning you apply. But I would apply seasoning with an oil.

Got 3 striploin roasts the other day. They got cut up for steaks and cheesesteak meat. Great technique for any tender steak. Thank you for sharing it with us, Mike. Stay safe and stay warm

Hey man, last I checked treating your steak with salt for 45 minutes draws moisture out of the darn thing.

What????….Fill us in a little dude.. like did you even leave the other side in the skillet on top of the stove for two minutes and when did you stick it in and how long in the oven ?. What was all the butter thrown in the pan for?… Either I’m in the first stages of something, fell asleep or you screwed up …

From what I found the best way to cook any steak in a pan is do it all in the pan and use the butter to baste the steak as it’s cooking that gives it a lovely colour and adds to juiciness of the meat and seasoning was correct salt pepper and onion power garlic salt and steak spice if you wish but salt and pepper is fine also make sure to season the sides of the steak add fresh rosemary thyme and garlic if you want that restaurant quality and once cooked to how you prefer medium medium rare well done or what ever wrap in foil with some of the herbs and juice from the pan and let sit for 5 or so minutes depending on the thickness of the steak 5 minutes being for a thin type of skirt steak you can thank me latter 👌
