As 10cent*10cent will be equal to 10cent^2, which cannot be possible.

1m= 100cm
Now
1m=100cm
=10cm x 10cm
=0.1m x 0.1m
=0.01m^2
Where 1m=0.01m^2

Like the same
1$=0.01$^2
Or

1$=100cents
=10 x 10cents
(i.e ten times of ten cents)
This is correct way of separation

Now

1$=10 x 10cents
=10 x 0.1$
=1$
1$ =1$

funny story: my daughter (entering 7th grade next fall) came up to me with a question meant to 'embarrass your math teacher' (which I wasn't privy to until the end). Now, understand that next year is her first year in a regular public school and not a at home public charter I'm her dad and teacher. My son thrives in that environment, my YouTube to find videos to embarrass her teacher (me).

The question was simple; "Name three things you use everyday?"

now, clearly, this is a linguistics trick....which, unlike math, is more of my wheelhouse. I listed *three* things I use everyday and guess didn't say 'math'. Thus, she argued that if I didn't say math, then I didn't use it daily...so, why should she learn it?

without hesitation, I responded: "That is really an English language trick....which I learned about in school. see, in order to name *three* things I use daily, I had to know what *three* meant. The fact that I didn't list one, two, four, five....different things....shows that I didn't think of math as something I do everyday because it's so important and so frequently used, that I mentioned it like I mentioned 'breath, make my heart beat, read, talk, listen to English speakers and understand what they are like math, if I didn't think it was so important as to be considered a given (like water, food, air), it would have made the list. if it want important, you would have gotten 5 to 7 different things I do daily."
